Off-topic / I'm Back! ...Probably

Hello everyone!
I am back from the dead. I haven't been on in a long while. I've been quite busy the past couple of months, but now that I am on summer break I should have more time to play! During this little vacation from Minecraft I've been quite a busy bee. At first, I was swamped with school projects and studying for final exams, but at the same time participating in sports and working at my job. I had very little free time to spend playing games, unfortunately. What little time I had, I was chasing a girl. I juggled all these things and came out all right by the time the end of school rolled around, but I still wasn't free to go. I had been planning and paying for (hence the working) a trip to Japan to study Japanese and of course sight-see and goof off. I went alone, which was an experience in itself. While there I enjoyed all the sights and scenery, even though I admit I didn't learn a whole lot of Japanese. But what can you do, you know? There's only so much you can understand after being in another culture for a couple of weeks. Anyways, I'm back now, quite enlightened, ready to put all my inspiration into construction! The rest of my summer is still quite busy, studying for SAT exams and planning events and whatnot, but I'll be trying to get on the server more consistently. Also, I think it's worth noting that the girl I was chasing is my girlfriend now, so yay me! haha.
I was bummed to miss out on participating in May's building contest. Chiefy didn't deserve that easy win! I hope there will be one for July so I can reclaim my domination of the building contests. Of course, it's up to all of you to unseat me

Projects / The Grand Tyran Road

It has come to my attention that the great island of Falmat, while relatively close to many structures and to spawn, lacks sufficient trade routes to keep its economy as profitable as would be preferred. For this reason I have decided to begin construction on the Grand Tyran Road, a pathway that will hopefully stretch from spawn to Falmat, passing settlements along the way.
(The REAL reason for this build is because I thought the "Projects" subforum was too empty
)
Anyways.
Day 1:
X_ium was with me as I laid the first blocks of the road. It shall be made of gravel and cobblestone slabs. A big thank you to Scam_Artist for donating gravel, which allowed me to get right started on the road!
I wound my way through the desert, dodging mountains of sand and lava pits. Be sure to check the Tyran's progress on the Dynamap in the future!
I ran out of gravel, but i can see a new biome in the horizon. I am satisfied for now.
I guess its off to the bottom of the ocean for me. Gravel mining is tough work! That being said, feel free to donate supplies or your own cheap labor to the Grand Tyran Road

Suggestions / TeamSpeak?

Hey everyone!
Does the server have a TeamSpeak or Skype or any sort of voice chat system officially set up? And if not, should it? Me personally, I don't mind just playing in the quiet or with my own music on while I'm building, but I'm always curious how the other players on the server actually sound. (Of course, we'd probably all get annoyed with one another's voices
) You can get more out of what someone has to say if you can hear the inflections in their voice. And sometimes its just nice to talk instead of using the chat if you're bored enough haha. So I don't mind either way. I just think it would be cool if there was some sort of "server call" running that you could just join in, just like how you can casually glance at the server's dynamic map. Wouldn't that be nifty?

Hey there Froobians!
I'll start this by saying three things:
1, I'm not sure where to post this, so I'm just putting it in Minecraft. Should I have put it in Ban Appeals? Off-Topic? Does it matter? I digress.
2, this is going to be a serious, respectful post, and I'm not trying to prosecute or insult anyone on a personal level. This was just something that was itching me.
3, Sorry grapeshield, I'm bringing it back up, don't get mad!
As you may know, there was quite a kerfuffle on the server recently regarding the banning EnigmaforceIV and the gray-listing of ProfessorDangle. Now my goal in writing this is not to stoke the flames regarding Enigma's situation. If you ask me, I will tell you my opinion on that decision another time, but that is not what I'm writing THIS piece for. I am writing this to respectfully request the ban of ProfessorDangle from the server.
The reason I am taking this so far as to post on the forums about it is not because I have a vendetta against ProfessorDangle. In fact, the opposite is true. I enjoyed Dangle and Enigma's little adventures on the server, and how they would roam around the map searching for adventure. It was fun to see them having a good time role-playing, getting the most out of Minecraft in their own way. I liked Dangle's intricate builds, his towers, his adventurous attitude. Many a good day I spent on the server was started with a warm welcome from him. Even as OldTownThief, ProfessorDangle was able to give the server a buzz of activity. I am sure his presence on the server will be sorely missed.
That being said, I am sticking to my guns. I want ProffesorDangle banned. Mind you, this is not for personal revenge, but for breaking Froobworld rules. ProfessorDangle is guilty of "luring," or consciously leading players into a trap, with the intention of harming them. Now, this isn't SPECIFICALLY stated in Froobworld's rules (at least on the website), but it definitely fits under the "trolling" category, which IS against the rules.
What happened is this: Dangle gave a shout out to the players on the server, saying he was giving away free stuff, presumably as a parting gifts to us as he was leaving the server in connection to the banning of EnigmaforceIV. As I am always on the lookout for some free goods, I indulged on his offer. Nothing wrong with a little free stuff, right? Well, when TP'ed to ProfessorDangle, he burned me to death with lava. He also toasted all my gear. It was the best stuff I had, and I can tell you the specs if you're curious, but all that should be irrelevant. The fact is, Dangle was breaking server rules. Even when I asked him if he had, by chance, picked up my stuff, he told me straight up that he had burned it. Those are actions that warrant a ban.
Again, this is nothing personal between ProfessorDangle and I. I'm not going to lie, I'm pretty bummed that he did such a mean thing to me, and it's going to take some time and work to get my stuff back. But I'm over it. He was probably just agitated and excited, and I get that he was probably letting out some frustration, letting out some steam at my expense. And I am not bitter towards him for it. I forgive him. But the fact is, he broke Froobworld rule, and those who disrespect Froobworld's rules, in essence disrespecting Froobworld as a whole, must face the consequences of such actions. Even if his actions were uncharacteristic, even if they were done in a fit while Dangle wasn't thinking normally, EVEN IF I don't have beef with ProfessorDangle, he must be banned.
It should be an important priority to set a precedent on the Froobworld server that those who break the rules, especially in such an intentional way as ProfessorDangle did, are always banned. ALWAYS. No exceptions. If not, it shows that there are loopholes, ways you could terrorize other players on the server and be able to get away with it. Gray-listing ProfessorDangle, while being some punishment, isn't doing him proper justice. He knew what he was doing when he lured me, and now he must pay the according price. It is unacceptable to let those who have broken rules be able to get away with doing things against Froobworld's ideals. Especially with Dangle being a trusted member of the server, a temporary admin I believe, an unbanned ProfessorDangle only stands to betray what Froobworld stands for. As my "superior," Dangle should be held to an even HIGHER standard than that of the normal player, like Enigma or myself. It sends a very bad message to let someone of high rank go against Froobworld law. The only fitting punishment is the one spelled out in the rules itself: a ban.
On top of all of that, you might still say, "Well, players have been given second chances before. Why shouldn't Dangle get one?" Yes, players have been granted second chances to play again, but for smaller issues. Players have been unbanned for minor, sometimes unintentional griefing, misunderstandings, and the like. This is not the case for ProfessorDangle. Dangle very intentionally, very deliberately attacked. This was no misunderstanding, no minor offense. As a respected server member, we know Dangle knew what he was doing, and knew that he was committing crime against the rules, but acted out anyway. I will also point out that these other "second chances" were granted from BEYOND BANISHMENT. These players were given a second chance, but only after they had already been banned. Meaning, even for such small incursions of Froobworld's rules, these other players were BANNED without a second thought. They paid the price for just their petty thefts and disturbances, something that Dangle has not for an unforgivable offense.
So what am I getting at here? For you TL;DR folks, this is what I am trying to say. I want ProfessorDangle banned, not for satisfaction as the victim of his crimes, but because it is the right thing and the just thing to do. Banning Dangle is what is supposed to happen in relation to his actions, and a banning him is merely the carrying out of the law. It is just that simple. And sadly, at the end of the day, even if things stay the current course and Dangle is not banned, something tells me that he won't be coming back to party with us any time soon anyways. So please, lets just give this situation some closure, shall we?

Introduce yourself / Hey, I'm FreakyTiki!

Hello all! I am FreakyTiki! You may have seen me recently, I have been pretty active as of the time I'm writing this. Here's some juicy info on me.
I was born, raised, and now currently live in Southern California, and I am a sophomore in high school. I am happy and have things pretty nice right now. I'm MOSTLY not a loser. I play volleyball and baseball for my school and at least TRY to have a social life, but my true interests lie in what I do when I come home. I love video games, and have been playing them FOREVER. I'm an introvert, so I'd much rather stay home and play games than go out and do stuff. Anyways, some of my favorite games (besides Minecraft of course) include Team Fortress 2, World of Warcaft, Terraria, Call of Duty (stfu, its fun to play with friends), Pokemon Emerald, and so much more, with Star Wars Battlefront II and Halo 2 in there if you want to get really nostalgic with me. Gosh, its so hard to put good games in a list, you always feel like you're leaving other great ones out! So yeah, please hit me up on Steam (Freaky Tiki), and I'll be sure to serve you up a whoopin' there.
I have recently been getting back into Minecraft after taking a break from it the past year or so. I don't know why, I just drifted away from it. One reason might've been that I usually got motion-sick (I know. Weird, right? Its pathetic!) from playing even 30 minutes. Maybe I just had a loooong time go by without any creative inspiration. Whatever it was, I wasn't interested in Minecraft for a while and even looked down on it when I saw my little bro playing it. That is, until I saw him playing this server. When I saw just how awesome Froobworld Semi-Vanilla was, my interest was piqued. I just had to get on and build me somethin'! And when I got on and started building, by some mysterious mystical powers of Froob, I didn't get motion-sick! So now I enjoy playing with you friendly folk here in Froobworld, and plan to be on more in the future.
This may just be a phase. I may switch to the next game that interests me after a month or two. But I guarantee you this: As long as this server is up and running, I will always come back to it. It's honestly too much fun not to! So yeah, hope to see y'all around in game.
